It’s a targeted segment of the Smartie Buddy program — a comprehensive learning framework covering reading comprehension, executive function, organizational skill-building, and test prep, implemented in 25–30 schools and backed by Torah Umesorah as the only learning program they recommend for struggling students.
SMARTIE Study draws on that same research-based methodology, zeroing in specifically on test studying and test taking — for students who are keeping up in class but losing it at test time.

SMARTIE Study addresses test studying and test taking specifically. If your daughter has been struggling for a long time — with reading, comprehension, or broader learning challenges — she likely needs the full Smartie Buddy program. SMARTIE Study is best for students keeping up in class but falling apart at test time.
Can my daughter do this on her own, or does she need a tutor?
For a student who mostly succeeds in class and needs to sharpen study skills, yes — the program can be worked through at home. We recommend getting the SMARTIE Study Power Pack so a parent or an older sibling can guide her. For more structured support, a trained SMARTIE Study tutor or certified Smartie Buddy coach can plug in additional strategies as needed.
My child already has a tutor. Why isn’t that enough?
Tutors teach subjects. SMARTIE Study teaches the skill of studying — how to organize what you’ve learned, retain it, and approach a test strategically. It doesn’t replace tutoring. It works alongside it. In fact, many parents introduce the program to their child’s tutor, making every session more effective.
What age is this for?
Designed from 3rd grade through high school, following a developmental hierarchy rather than strict chronological age. Most families start SMARTIE Study from 5th grade onward, when test-taking expectations increase significantly.
I don’t think SMARTIE Study will be enough for my child. What else is available?
Your child will benefit from the full Smartie Buddy program. It covers learning foundations, reading comprehension, executive function, and test prep in a year-long structured program with a certified coach.
