About Us

Hi!  I’m Rachel.

For over 20 years, I have been passionate about helping struggling students become lifelong, independent learners. I created the SMARTIE Buddy program by combining the lates research with my diverse experiences. I am on a heartfelt mission to revolutionize education for today’s struggling students.

I initially started as a mainstream classroom teacher. My love for learning and burning passion for helping all students feel successful in the classroom led me to take additional courses, and I haven’t stopped learning since. I worked as a reading specialist and a teacher in a self-contained classroom. Things pretty much mushroomed after that! I supervise the resource room in one school as a case coordinator and supervisor, and provide educational consultations focusing on a holistic, strengths-based approach. I have also created and delivered PD workshops and training for educators and parents, translating brain research into practical application. I also am a mom of a large family, so I know what learning looks like from the other side, too.

The SMARTIE Buddy Program is unlike anything you had ever seen or felt before, and I know I have to share it with the world.
